About Me
Steven Ricou
BSc (Hons), MBACP, Dip. Couns.
From my earlier teenage years I had an interest in mental health and well being, which I first explored by supporting young people on the Autistic Spectrum as a Peer Mentor and then volunteer Youth Worker. This work, along with academic curiosity led me to complete a Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Bangor, Wales.
Upon graduating I worked at various levels as Key Worker for more than 10 years at a number of secondary schools in the Island of Jersey. During this time I also undertook the various levels of study and examinations to obtain and Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have for the past two years been counselling individuals with a range of personal difficulties, and in particular those who have suffered with recent and past bereavement at Jersey Hospice Care. I am an integrative counsellor with my approach being person centred counselling.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) - Registration No. 381505 (https://www.bacp.co.uk/search/Register).
